Ann Watters (1925-2006) of Wilmington, North Carolina, served in the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) from 1943 to 1944. Ann K. Watters was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, on March 3, 1925. Her father and two brothers were pilots, and Watters took aviation classes in high school. She graduated from New Hanover High School in 1943 and worked breifly as an aeronautical draftsman in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Watters attended flight school at Dallas Aviation in Texas in the spring of 1944, and immediately joined the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP). She then trained at Sweetwater, Texas, and graduated in December 1944 just as the WASP disbanded. Watters worked at Dow Chemical after returning to North Carolina.
